Hope and Help in the Midst of the Coronavirus : COVID -19
Hope First
1. You are not given a spirit of fear! You are given a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind!

2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The following is a link to Joni Eareckson-Tada offering tremendous  hope from someone who is in the highest mortality risk category of  the flu.

2. Always remember there is no fear in love, rather Perfect Love casts out all fear!

1 John 4:18 NKJV
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

3. Never forget that God protects you from disease. Read all of Psalm 91.  The         following is just a small portion of it that demonstrates His goodness towards us.
Pestilence does refer to disease.

Psalms 91:3-6 NKJV
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

4. The following are some additional thoughts of Hope:
  • Corona means crown in Latin. May this thought point us to Jesus who is Lord of lords and King of Kings. Revelation 17:14

  •  May the name COVID 19 remind us of two things:
    1. Christ Over Viruses, Infections, & Diseases.  Psalm 103:1-5!
    2. May the 19  remind us of Joshua 1:9. Be strong! Have no fear! God is with you!

Help Second
1. Getting the facts then applying wisdom to them can be the biggest help God has given us. The following link is to Dr. Peter Lin, a family physician sharing
facts about
the COVID - 19 virus.
Dr. Peter Lin

2. Let us apply the wisdom God has given us. Please do not confuse wisdom with fear. You are the Temple of God - your body.  Do what you can to be a good steward of it and in maintenance of it.

1 Corinthians 3:16 NKJV
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Fact: God has given you an amazing immune system.

Wisdom: Do what you can to strengthen it!

The following is doctor directed wisdom on being
Strong
with your body during this time:

Jeremiah 1:9

STRONG in your mindset:

Trust that God has given us brilliant scientists and organizations working on this.
Believe how God made your body to fight disease!
Know that this too shall pass!
We are created resilient and resourceful!
Wisdom and common sense are gifts from God!

STRONG in your hygiene:

Bring your own stylus for your shopping transactions processed on a credit/debit card  machine.

Wash your hands often.
Use paper towels in your kitchen and bathrooms to dry hands.
Especially after being in public places.
Use warm soapy water for 20 seconds!
This alone can reduce infection rates as much as 50%!
Use hand sanitizers as well.

Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue if possible, use the inside of your elbow, or raise your shirt collar above your nose and mount.

Wearing a mask is helpful, but only the n95 surgical masks are made to seal the mouth and nose completely.
Dust, alergin, and generic masks do not seal well. They can minimize, but not prevent airborne issues.

Use a stylus pen for any kind of  in person debit or credit card transaction.
Sanitize afterword!

Use drive through or delivery services when available.

Wear disposable glove or use a paper towel or even a grocery bag over your hand when getting gas!
Throw it away before you get in your vehicle.

STRONG in your nutrition:

This is not the time to be stress eating garbage!
This is the quickest way to compromise your body's immune system.
So stay away from sugar!
Your body needs quality whole food nutrition to battle for you.
Eat fresh, real food.
Eat colors - vegetables and fruits
Stay hydrated!
Be careful with the alcohol!
This challenges your body and must be detoxified.
This can cause your body extra work robbing resources from your it.

STRONG in your habits:

SLEEP
This is the #1 thing you can control daily that will work to build your immune system and fight off illness.
Get minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep per night

It is very important for a strong immune system to go to bed and be sleeping before 10:00 pm.

Limit unnecessary stressors
Including stress-inducing people and even the pundits and perpetual news cycles programming panic. Turn them off of TV, Podcasts, and Social Media.

Moderate exercise 30-60 minutes 2-4 days per week.

Move your body, in fresh air, outside, away from crowds of people, daily.
This also gives you vitamin D!

STRONG in your capability:

You will make thousands of choices each day,
Make the best ones!

Keep your thoughts positive and on things above.

Put your thoughts to the Philippians 4:8 test.
All parts of Philippians to all parts of your thoughts!

STRONG in Nutrition and Supplements

Focus on the foods that will make your digestive system, and microbiome, healthier.
Your gut microbiome is the trillions of healthy bacteria that keep you healthy and regulate much of your immune system health. This is because over 70% of your immune system lives within your gut!

You must take care of your gut,  your microbiome, much like tending a garden with a variety of different plant species that all grow stronger when they are all thriving.

Eat more prebiotic foods:

These are the foods your gut bacteria need to thrive.
Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are good.
Apples, onion, garlic, asparagus, bananas, oats, leeks,  and cocoa are some specific examples.

Eat more probiotic foods:

These literally contain strains of good healthy bacteria.
Yogurt, kifer, miso, sauerkraut, pickles, and Kombucha are some examples.

Broths:
For generations we have known that broths are amazing for delivery of hydration and nutrients, particularly when not feeling our best. Bone broths, or if that isn’t your liking, miso and mushroom veggie broths are fantastic and  packed with essential nutrients and electrolytes your body needs to be healthiest.

Mushrooms:
Mushrooms are powerhouses of good things for our immune system.
Reishi, shiitake, turkey tail, and cordyceps in particular are all fantastic.

Supplements:

Taking some extra vitamin C, zinc, vitamin A, astragalus root, echinacea, and elderberry extracts are all effective supportive immune-boosting strategies, and totally safe.

A potent strategy comes in the form of viral fighting amino acids.
The top amino acids thought to support strong immune system function:

N-Acetyl-Cysteine, a.k.a. NAC
L-glutamine
L-lysine

3. Financial resource help.

4.A few last thoughts:

Separation / Quarantine

Separation and Quarantine are God's way of dealing with contagious diseases. See Leviticus chapters 13 and 14 for how God speaks to this. Remember that the mortality rate of flu and Hansen's Disease (leprosy) are very similar. Thus we should handle them the same way.

Call
If you are concerned that you possibly have the COVID - 19 Flu,
call on the Great Physician, call your local physician or health department,
and call your elders.

Exodus 15:26 NKJV
"If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians.
For I am the LORD who heals you."

James 5:14 NKJV
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Your Heart

A cheerful heart is good medicine!

Proverbs 17:22 NKJV
A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

Worry

Don't worry. Keep your eyes, thus your attention and focus on the Lord. Read Matthew 6:25-34. Below is Jesus' final statement about worry.

Matthew 6:34 NKJV
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Blessing to you and yours in the Name that is above all Names, the Lord Jesus Christ.
